Spring hiking in the Serra Tramuntana, Mallorca

My friends Liz and Reuben organise brilliant walking trips in the UK and overseas. They spent Christmas hiking in Ethiopia and it looked amazing! Next month they are off for 4 days hiking in Mallorca and they still have a few spaces left for the trip. If you fancy stretching your legs and getting some delicious spring sunshine and fresh air then maybe this is the break for you. And it only costs £350 pp or £600 for a couple. If you’re interested, there are full details below.

5 nights spring hiking trip in the spectacular Tramuntana mountains, Mallorca, SPAIN

Join us for 4 fabulous days/5 nights spring trekking in the stunning Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Mallorca, SPAIN – March 8th-13th 2018

The magnificent Serra de Tramuntana is a UNESCO world heritage site. This impressive mountain range – almost 90km long – forms the backbone of Mallorca, and stretches from Andratx in the southwest to the Cap de Formentor in the far north of the island.

The rural landscape is dominated by ancient dry stone terracing and walls, and nature’s own sculptures – gnarled centuries-old olive trees. There are also towns and villages worth visiting for their cultural and historical heritage.

The price of £350 per person (or 2 people booking and sharing a room together £600) INCLUDES the following:

 • 5 nights stay in a twin bedded room in this stunning Finca, (click link) near to the town of Alaro

• All bedding and towels
• 4 days of guided hikes, with an accredited British Mountaineering Council mountain leader, and some local sightseeing
• 5 breakfasts, 4 pack lunches and 3 evening meals. (We can cater for all dietary requirements, please let us know in advance)
• All transport during the trip and airport transfers to and from the accommodation

• 2 evening meals when we will head out and enjoy some typical Mallorcan cuisine
• Flights to/from Mallorca
• Any alcoholic beverages or bottled water
• Personal travel insurance

We will be a group of no more that 16 people for this trip.

All 4 hikes will involve ascending to a height of between 810 and 1,380 meters (Ben Nevis is 1,345 meters, but we will start from a higher altitude!) and enjoy spectacular views. 3 days will involve approximately 5 hours hiking time plus breaks and on one day we will hike for 3.5 hours only, plus breaks. You will be expected to have some previous hiking experience and have a reasonable level of fitness.

We are self catering at the Finca, and you will enjoy freshly prepared well balanced meals provided by the team. We can cater to special diets if notified in advance. Help around the kitchen by members of the group is always appreciated.

Ingredients will be provided for people to prepare their own choice of sandwich for the hikes – snacks and fruit will also be available.

We are lucky enough to have a yoga teacher joining us on this trip, so if you would like to join in some yoga stretching to complement your hiking you will be more than welcome – you may wish to bring your yoga mat.

If we experience bad weather we will tailor the trip/hikes accordingly and possibly introduce other activities such as visiting the monastery at Lluc, exploring Palma the capital, or visiting some of the stunning historic towns and villages within easy reach of the Tramuntana.

All participants on the trip are personally responsible for their own fitness, safety and welfare and must be equipped accordingly. Everyone will be expected to obtain appropriate insurance.
